In the 15th century, either as a result of English invasions or the plague, Cazals was depopulated. Around 1440, Cazals became part of the seigneury of the Viscount of Bruniquel.<\/p>\n<p>Before the creation of Tarn et Garonne, the commune of Cazals was part of the canton of Bruniquel, arrondissement of Montauban, department of Lot. After Napoleon's visit to Montauban on 28 July 1808 (when he created the Tarn et Garonne), the commune of Cazals was attached to the canton of N\u00e8grepelisse, arrondissement of Montauban; in 1981,
