The community of municipalities
Created in 1997, the Communauté de Communes du Quercy Rouergue et des Gorges de l'Aveyron (CCQRGA) covers an area of 463 km² and is made up of 17 communes. Located to the east of the Tarn-et-Garonne department, the CCQRGA borders the Aveyron, Lot and Tarn departments.
The territory of the CCQRGA is characterised by its size and very low population density. It is based around the two former cantons of St Antonin Noble Val and Caylus (plus the Tarn commune of Montrosier). St Antonin Noble Val and Caylus are the most populous communes, with 1852 and 1446 inhabitants respectively in 2017 (Source Insee). As a Public Establishment for Intercommunal Cooperation (EPCI), the CCQRGA works with and complements the communes in a number of areas, from spatial planning to economic development, from leisure centres to the Intercommunal Tourist Office, from household waste collection to France Services, and so on.
