In a few words...

The Communauté de communes du Quercy Rouergue et Gorges de l'Aveyron (CC-QRGA) is faced with an ageing population and a negative natural balance that has been increasing for several years. At present, the arrival of new residents is offsetting this natural deficit; without this immigration, the CC-QRGA would be in demographic decline. However, these new settlements remain precarious due to challenges such as isolation, lack of housing and jobs, and medical desertification.

To remedy this situation and ensure the region's demographic future, the CC-QRGA has committed to the ERDF-SSE+ AURA programme "Promoting and developing attractiveness", which runs from 1ᵉʳ January 2024 to 31 December 2026. This initiative is part of an overall territorial strategy to enhance the attractiveness of the area.

The volunteer will focus on developing complementary actions to this programme, aimed at strengthening its impact. He/she will be encouraged to put forward new ideas and devise innovative actions that are not included in the current tasks and workload of the project manager, in order to support and facilitate the settlement and integration of new residents.

Objectives

  • Supporting the integration of new residents.
  • Promote local activities and installation routes.
  • Contribute to the regional attractiveness strategy of the CC-QRGA.

Missions

The volunteer will be responsible for :

  • Establish a network of local ambassadors, particularly from the voluntary sector, to help new residents settle in.
  • Collecting and promoting testimonials from new arrivals through a variety of media (podcasts, articles, videos) to promote the diversity of local settlement patterns.
  • Conduct a survey to identify new residents' motivations, needs and perceptions of the area.
  • Leading a group of new residents to combat isolation and encourage mutual support.
  • Support the organisation of a welcome event for new arrivals.
  • Mapping local initiatives (shops, associations, producers, craftspeople, etc.) to make them more visible.
  • Participating in the modernisation of a welcome guide for new residents.

Skills development

The assignment will enable the volunteer to develop a variety of skills that can be put to good use in his or her future career, such as :

  • Interpersonal skills
  • Project management
  • Communication
  • Multimedia content creation
  • Analysis and survey
  • Autonomy and initiative
