"Discovering the Aveyron gorges

Starting from the Place du Pradel in Saint-Antonin Noble Val, walk along the Aveyron river, home to "Loïra" the otter, towards Cazals. You'll be able to find out more about the environment in which she lives, the flora and fauna associated with the river and how it has been used by man. The trail guide is available from tourist offices, town halls and the Communauté de Communes.

The missions of the road service

The Communauté de Communes has an extensive network of footpaths (around 440km). There has long been a willingness to take action across the region. Maintaining, repairing and developing our common spaces is one of our priorities. The footpath maintenance unit is responsible for :

- Create, maintain and mark footpaths
- Helping local authorities manage their natural areas

Hiker's Charter

  • Respecting nature and private property
  • Stay on marked paths and tracks
  • Watch out for crops and animals, close fences
  • Be careful during the hunting season and heed hunters' instructions
  • Do not light fires or smoke in the woods
  • Don't throw rubbish away, take it with you
  • Discover the flora without trampling or picking it
  • Respect reception, signposting and marking equipment
  • Comply with the Highway Code when driving on the carriageway
  • Keeping dogs on a lead
  • Remain courteous to other users (mountain bikers, horse riders, local residents, fishermen, etc.)
  • Being discreet. Thinking of others, of the serenity of nature
  • Getting to know the flora and fauna, especially in sensitive areas
  • Contact the local authorities for information during the hunting season
