Helping to educate young people about citizenship and digital technology

Set up initiatives to educate people about digital tools and raise awareness of the risks involved.

Citizen objective

The volunteer will immerse themselves in media education and raise awareness of the risks associated with digital technology, which are essential to their personal and professional projects. They will also help to raise awareness of digital issues within the local youth centre, the college and the PIJ.

Daily actions

Supporting young people in digital workshops

Helping to monitor events

Helping to promote schemes to facilitate access to independence and mobility through the Van itinérant (PIJ...)

Raising awareness of the use of IT tools by young people

Helping with homework, working with the staff and volunteers at the youth centre, and developing innovative learning spaces and tools through computer research.

Helping to mobilise and support young people in participative projects

Involving secondary school students in choosing the themes for the events on offer and creating debates around the dangers of the Internet

Participate in meetings to prepare the various actions linked to the youth premises

Meeting local partners

Compulsory training

During their placement, volunteers receive PSC1 certification training in first aid and civic education (content and format vary depending on the host organisation: lectures, debates, etc.). These two training courses must be organised by the host organisation and completed during the Civic Service commitment period.

Tutoring and support

Volunteers are also supported by a mentor within the host organisation to help them successfully complete their assignment. The tutor also helps the volunteer to think about his or her plans for the future at the end of the Civic Service and draws up a personal report.

Civic Service volunteers can make suggestions and develop the content of their assignment.
