Discovered in 1936 by local speleologists, the Bosc cave has been open to the public since 1938. Previously managed by a private owner, the Communauté de Communes Quercy Rouergue Gorges de l'Aveyron became the owner and manager of the cave in 2020, with the aim of creating an attractive, lively, multi-activity tourist site. The only cave in the Tarn-et-Garonne region open to the public, the Grotte du Bosc offers visitors a complete range of facilities, including a reception building, educational workshop room, shaded terrace, play area and picnic area, as well as a range of activities. Now that the works phase (2020-2024) has been completed, the recruitment of a mediator will allow us to implement the second phase, i.e. visitor development.

  • Handles the physical and telephone reception of visitors and takes bookings
  • Sells tickets and boutique products using Moka cash register software

  • Day-to-day management of the site during the season: opening and closing, helping to maintain the premises (rubbish bins, toilets, cleaning)

DESIGN AND FOLLOW-UP OF EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

  • Produces mediation materials and purchases equipment
  • Implements and monitors a promotional strategy for educational workshops
  • Seek out and create institutional partnerships (Causses et Gorges de l'Aveyron Tourist Office, Pays Midi Quercy, Education Nationale) and strategic partnerships (nearby tourist sites).

GROUP MANAGEMENT

  • Handling group bookings: information given at the time of booking, data entered in Excel spreadsheet and planning, group welcome and guided tour, payment tracking.
