The Tiers Lieu project is moving forward in Caylus, with work starting this spring on the former CARSAC hangar on the Chirou business park. Renamed La Fabrique, the 1,000m2 hangar will provide residents with enhanced services, including the ability to accommodate school groups more easily and to carry out large-scale projects. 

The pooling of tools and spaces will also make it possible to host a Master's degree (Bac+4 and Bac+5) with training courses for craftspeople, run by the Tarn-et-Garonne Chamber of Trades. 

The FabLab and its tools have already been operating in the centre of Caylus since 2016, but this new building will allow us to think big and give it a go from November 2022. 

The interior of the hangar will be divided into different workshops, which will be assembled using earth-and-straw construction. This is an ecological, healthy and 100% local construction technique based on a timber frame.
